Programme

In Scouts we offer a Balanced Programme.  The programme is built up of a range of activities and experience built around six Programme Zones.  To ensure that it is exciting and interesting we use a variety of methods.

Building our programme in this way means that we achieve our purpose, engaging and supporting our young people in their personal development, and empowering them to make a positive mark on society.

The Programme Zones

  • Outdoor and Adventure
  • Community (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) / Community Service (Explorers)
  • Fitness (Beavers and Cubs) / Fit for Life (Scouts) / Physical Recreation (Explorers)
  • Creative (Beavers and Cubs) / Creative Expression (Scouts)
  • Global
  • Beliefs and Attitudes (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) / Values and Relationships (Explorers)

Methods might include:

  • helping others / service to the community
  • going on visits and hosting visitors
  • playing games
  • making things, design and creativity
  • meet new people / activities with others
  • act, sing and make music

  • fun
  • teamwork
  • developing leadership

  • commitment
  • personal development
  • living our Promise
